
Daniel Rosen, PhD, MSW
President & CEO
Daniel Rosen, PhD, MSW, is President and CEO of the Jewish Healthcare Foundation, where he leads the Foundation's strategy, partnerships, and efforts to improve health and health care. Throughout his career, Dr. Rosen has worked at the intersection of academia, healthcare entrepreneurship, philanthropy, and nonprofit governance, bringing together research, practical implementation, and community partnership to improve systems of care.
Prior to joining the Jewish Healthcare Foundation, Dr. Rosen was a Professor of Social Work at the University of Pittsburgh, where he directed the Integrated Healthcare Certificate Program, coordinated the joint MSW/MBA program, and chaired the Health Research Advisory Panel at the Center on Race and Social Problems. His federally funded research focused on improving care for older adults, behavioral health, chronic disease management, and healthcare delivery, with support from NIDA, CDC, SAMHSA, HRSA, and numerous national and regional foundations. Dr. Rosen was a recipient of the Hartford Faculty Scholar Award and a Fellow at the Institute of Aging and Social Work. He also founded Wellbridge Health, a chronic disease management company that combined digital health technology with personalized coaching to improve outcomes for individuals with complex health needs.
Dr. Rosen has held numerous leadership roles across the region's nonprofit and public sectors, including serving as Board Chair of AgeWell Pittsburgh and The Friendship Circle and as a board member of the Allegheny Regional Asset District and Allegheny Health Choices. He has been involved with JHF for over a decade, serving on its Board of Trustees, Distribution Committee, as its representative chair on the Jewish Community Advisory Committee, and chair of the Adolescent Behavioral Health Special Advisory Committee. Dr. Rosen is a recipient of the Fred Rock Founder’s Award, Volunteer of the Year Award from the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh, the University of Pittsburgh Innovation Award, and the Latterman Volunteer of the Year Award.
Dr. Rosen received a bachelor's degree in political science, master's degree in social work, and joint doctorate in social work and sociology, all from the University of Michigan.
