About Us
We're reimagining the healthcare workforce.
Mission
Health Careers Futures (HCF) was founded in 2003 to re-imagine the healthcare workforce—from providing innovative training and coaching, to examining scope of work, to supporting emerging or entirely new professions. HCF partners with key stakeholders to create a frontline workforce capable of achieving the best possible health outcomes at a reasonable cost, while stimulating employment opportunities and economic growth in southwestern Pennsylvania. It advances this mission by offering multidisciplinary fellowships and internships for students and early-career professionals, creating Champions programs and ongoing skills training opportunities for workers across the care continuum, and accelerating policy and delivery reforms that unlock the full potential of our healthcare workforce.
An operating arm of the Jewish Healthcare Foundation
JHF is an activist philanthropy and grantmaking foundation that blends the roles of grantmaker, think tank, educator, and researcher to advance the well-being of communities and the excellence of healthcare delivery. To assist in achieving its goals, JHF has three operating arms: the Pittsburgh Regional Health Initiative (PRHI), Health Careers Futures (HCF), and the Women's Health Activist Movement Global (WHAMglobal).
